ELVEN Mentoring Program
One of the projects that ELVEN is working on is to establish ourselves as a group where newcomers to SL (especially teachers and librarians...but anyone) can get mentoring on skills and knowledge that the more experienced members have. We would like to offer the use of the ELVEN Group IM channel as the primary means for requesting mentoring. Newcomers can IM the group and ask if anyone can help them with "x". Members who see the IM can then respond with "I"ll help you with 'x' via private IM," and then contact the person.
If you get a newcomer request that you cannot handle yourself, then you can use this NING to find out which members have a particular skill, and put the newcomer in touch with that member.

The mentor program is ongoing and we've added drop-in mentoring sessions on Sunday's at 4PM PDT. You can find more info on the SL Events calendar. Send those newbies on over!
